The mapping of reality with deterministic models suggests precision. The reality is that all the data and information are characterized by fuzziness, uncertainty, incompleteness and inaccuracy. To address this research topic, “Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft” (DFG) funds the priority program SPP1886: Polymorphic uncertainty modelling for the numerical design of structures. With the SPP novel methods for the numerical design of structures are developed considering the uncertainty. To support the work of the involved projects, a Summer School is held at the International Centre for Mechanical Sciences (CISM) in Udine from 8th to 10th October 2018. This Summer School followed by the internal Annual Meeting.
